Sumner W. Jones joined Eastern Bank in 1984 as a Senior Vice President, assuming management of the Trust Division. Mr. Jones oversees all compliance and client service issues for the division. He is responsible for the Division's Retirement Planning group and participates in the overall management of the division. He is a member of Eastern Bank's Management Council.
Professional Experience
Previously, Mr. Jones was vice president and division head of the fiduciary custody division of State Street Bank and Trust Company, where he was responsible for selling and providing custody, trust accounting, and employee benefit plan services to clients both domestic and foreign.
Education
Mr. Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Boston University and a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar.
Currently, Mr. Jones is involved in the leadership of several Salem-area community organizations. He is past president of the Salem Partnership. He is the treasurer and a board member of Salem Community Access Television, and a board member of Brookhouse Home for Aged Women and the Salem Boys and Girls Club.
