Thomas J. Furlong, Jr. is responsible for a seasoned portfolio of accounts including trusts, investment management, custodial management, estates and IRAs. He is chief fiduciary officer for the division and is chairman of the Trust Administration Committee.
Professional Experience
Mr. Furlong joined the Bank in 1998. Previously, he was senior vice president of Bank of New Hampshire, where he was responsible for managing its Portsmouth, New Hampshire, trust office. He was also employed by State Street Bank and Trust Company and Investors Bank and Trust Company in various roles including management, estate planning, taxation, and account administration. Previously, Mr. Furlong was engaged in the private practice of law, concentrating in estate planning, probate, and taxation.
Education
Mr. Furlong holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Providence College, a Juris Doctorate from Suffolk University Law School, and a Master of Law in Taxation from Boston University Law School. He has also completed Boston University's Certified Financial Planner program. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar and also a member of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
