Eastern Bank Plans to Open New Branch in Sharon Office will be 49th branch; extends service to Sharon and Foxboro residents SHARON, Mass., May 19, 2003 Eastern Bank, a full-service commercial bank based in Boston, today announced plans to open a branch inside the Shaws Supermarket in Sharon, just over the Foxboro town line. The new branch at 780 S. Main St. will be Easterns 49th office. The branch will provide products ranging from free checking to personal loans seven days a week. The branch is expected to open in mid June. We are excited about this opportunity to bring Easterns full array of products and services, along with our commitment to providing top-notch customer service, to a good location inside a popular supermarket, said Gary Coltin, senior vice president for retail banking at Eastern. This office expands our presence in Norfolk County to include eight locations, so it both improves convenience for customers living in that area, while providing us with the opportunity to attract new customers. The new office is Easterns fifth supermarket location. With the opening of the Sharon branch, Eastern will have 10 offices in Greater Boston that are open seven days a week. Founded in 1818, Eastern Bank is New Englands largest mutually-owned, independent commercial bank, with $4.5 billion in assets, $3 billion in commercial and consumer loans and 48 branches in Greater Boston.
