Wilma Birkett-Davis Named Manager of New East Boston Branch East Boston resident has 16 years of banking experience EAST BOSTON, Mass., April 10, 2003 – Eastern Bank, a full-service commercial bank, today announced the appointment of Wilma Birkett-Davis as manager of its new branch inside Shaw’s Supermarket at 246 Border Street in East Boston. Eastern also announced that Andrea Jimenez has been appointed assistant manager of the branch, which is Eastern’s 48th location and fourth in Boston. Following the grand opening celebration the week of April 21, Eastern will have nine offices in Greater Boston that are open seven days a week. A resident of East Boston and mother of two, Birkett-Davis is a 16-year veteran of the banking industry. She will manage operations and customer relations at the branch, and lead business development efforts in the East Boston neighborhood. “When you’re opening a branch in a new neighborhood, it’s nice to know that it will be led by someone who knows the area well,” said Gary Coltin, Eastern’s senior vice president in charge of retail banking. “We’re pleased to have someone with Wilma’s experience running our new East Boston branch.” Prior to joining Eastern, Birkett-Davis was branch manager at Fleet Bank. Before that, she spent nine years at East Boston Savings Bank, where she worked her way up from the teller line to become a branch manager. Birkett-Davis began her career at BankBoston. She is attending the New England College of Finance. Jimenez, who has four years of banking experience, also comes to Eastern from Fleet. A resident of Lynn, Jimenez will run the office in Birkett-Davis’ absence and assist with customer relations and business development activities.
