Executive Vice President, Consumer Banking
Barbara J. Heinemann is Executive Vice President of Consumer Banking at Eastern Bank. She joined Eastern in 2001. She oversees Retail Banking, Mortgage Banking, Consumer Lending and the Customer Service Center, bringing more than 35 years of experience to her role. Barbara was previously the Executive Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management overseeing Corporate Security, Corporate Compliance, Bank Secrecy Act Compliance, Information Security and Operational Risk Management Departments. Prior to that she held the title of Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer at Eastern with responsibilities for the Technology and Operations Divisions. Before joining Eastern, Ms. Heinemann spent more than 13 years with Cambridgeport Bank, where she was Director of Retail Banking and then served as SVP of Technology & Operations for 7 years in addition to managing numerous enterprise-wide initiatives. She serves as a trustee of the North Shore Community College, holds Board seats on the North Shore Community College Foundation Board, the New England Automated Clearing House (“NEACH”) Board, the NEACH Payments Group Board, and the Burbank Reading YMCA Board of Advisors. She earned an MBA from the University of Maryland and graduated from America’s Community Bankers’ National School of Banking at Fairfield University, and the Massachusetts Bankers’ Association School of Financial Studies at Babson College.
