All Questions & Answers
Accounts and Transaction History
How do I access my accounts online once they convert to Eastern Bank?
On Monday, July 15, at 9 a.m. your accounts will convert to Eastern Mobile & Online Banking®. At that time, you can log in with your Cambridge Trust username and password at easternbank.com.
If we were unable to convert your username for any reason, we will reach out to you with your new, modified username.
The first time you log in, you will be prompted to complete a one-time passcode. You will also need to accept the disclosures for the Online & Mobile Agreement and the Electronic Communications Consent. This can be done through our website or on the mobile app.
Will I be able to see all of my accounts online?
You will be able to view all deposit and loan accounts that you owned at Cambridge Trust. If you have accounts at both Eastern Bank and Cambridge Trust, they will not be combined in Eastern Mobile & Online Banking. If you would like to combine the accounts, please contact us on or after July 15, 2024.
How much deposit transaction history is being converted?
We are migrating 13 months of transaction history for your deposit accounts. Please note that your transaction history will not be viewable until sometime in the week following completion of the merger. You will then begin to build your transaction history going forward. Also, please be aware that your cleared check images and electronic statements from Cambridge Trust prior to Monday, July 15 will not be available online.
Transaction categories and notes that you have created will not carry over, so please download or save any banking reports before the merger, as they will no longer be available.
Will my loan transaction history migrate to Eastern Bank?
Yes, all of your loan history will be available online by Tuesday, July 16.
Statements
Will my Cambridge Trust statements convert?
We are unable to convert your past statements, so they will not be available after your accounts convert to Eastern Bank. Please make sure that you print, download or save your Cambridge Trust statements by Friday, July 12 at 4 p.m.
Will I receive my statements electronically at Eastern Bank?
If you currently are signed up for electronic statements at Cambridge Trust for your checking and savings accounts, then your new Eastern Bank statements will also be delivered electronically. You will also be able to manage your statement settings online or in our app and change between paper and electronic delivery any time you’d like.
Will I continue to receive my statements in both paper and electronic formats?
If you’re currently receiving both paper and electronic statements, then we will migrate your statements as paper. After your accounts transition to Eastern Bank, you can change your statement delivery method to receive them electronically.
Does Eastern Bank send other notices and disclosures electronically?
Eastern Bank currently offers checking and savings account statements electronically, but not other types of disclosures. After your accounts convert to Eastern Bank, other notices will be delivered to you through postal mail. We are working on some product enhancements to offer other notices electronically in the future.
Bill Payment
What bill payment information will convert to Eastern Bank?
We will convert your active bill pay payees, scheduled payments, eBills, and payment history. If we find any exceptions specific to your account, Eastern Bank will reach out to you.
Please note that bill payments scheduled for Friday, July 12, will be processed on Monday, July 15.
What bill pay features will not convert to Eastern Bank?
Bill payment reports and expedited payments are not available in Eastern Mobile & Online Banking bill pay. Please make sure that you print, download or save any bill payment reports that you wish to keep by Thursday, July 11 at 4 p.m.
Additionally, inactive payees will not carry over. Be sure to reactivate any inactive payees that you wish to keep before Thursday, July 11 at 4 p.m. Inactive payees that are not reactivated by this date will be deleted.
When will Eastern Bank debit my checking account for bill payments?
We debit your checking account on the Send On date for all bill payments, regardless of whether the payment is sent electronically or as a paper check. This is an important change to how your Cambridge Trust bill payments will debit your checking account.
What are Eastern Bank’s bill payment limits?
You can pay up to $10,000 per payment and $20,000 per day.
Zelle and External Transfers
Can I continue to use Zelle to move money?
After the merger, you can use Zelle to send and receive money; however, you can no longer use the Zelle stand-alone app. You will be able to use Zelle right in our Eastern Mobile & Online Banking service. Enrollment for your consumer checking accounts is quick and simple – after you log into Eastern Mobile & Online Banking, select Transfers and then select Send Money with Zelle. In the mobile app, select Move Money and then select Send Money with Zelle.
What are Eastern Bank’s Zelle limits?
You can pay up to $500 per transaction and $500 per day.
At Cambridge Trust, I was able to transfer money to accounts I owned at other financial institutions. Can I continue to do these types of transactions?
We do offer External Transfers; however, we were unable to convert your Cambridge Trust external transfer accounts to Eastern Bank. Enrolling your consumer accounts in our External Transfers service is simple – after you log into Eastern Mobile & Online Banking, you can connect your external banking accounts. Please take note of any transfers established between your external bank accounts, as you will need to set these up again on or after July 15.
Transfers
I had recurring and/or future-dated transfers set up at Cambridge Trust. Will my transfers convert to Eastern Bank?
In most cases, we were able to convert your internal transfers to Eastern Bank with a few exceptions.
If there are any transfer frequencies at Cambridge Trust that are not supported in Eastern Mobile & Online Banking, we will reach out to you separately to let you know.
Please note that any transfers scheduled for Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 will not process. You will need to set these up again on or after July 15.
Where can I see the transfers that were migrated to Eastern Bank?
Once your accounts convert to Eastern Bank, log into Eastern Mobile & Online Banking and navigate to Transfers. In online banking, select Activity to view your scheduled and recurring transfers that converted. In our mobile app, select Move Money and then select Scheduled Transfers.
Mobile App
Will I need to download a new mobile app?
Yes, you will need to delete your Cambridge Trust app and download Eastern Bank’s app. Look for our Eastern Bank - NEW app icon in the app store on your phone:
Remember to re-establish Face ID or Touch ID for secure, easy login on your mobile device. You can also set up a 5-digit login passcode.
Mobile Deposit
What are Eastern Bank’s mobile deposit limits?
Our mobile deposit limits are $5,000/day and $25,000/month for consumers, and $10,000/day and $30,000/month for businesses.
Alerts
Will my Cambridge Trust online banking alerts convert to Eastern Bank?
We are unable to convert your alerts that you established in your Cambridge Trust online banking, so you will need to set up new alerts once your accounts are converted to Eastern Bank on or after July 15.
In our mobile app, you can create alerts by selecting More, then Manage Alerts. In online banking, just go to Self Service, then Manage Alerts.
When and how will my alerts be delivered?
You can set up your alerts to be sent to you by email, text message and push notification to your iOS or Android smartphone. Alerts in Eastern Mobile & Online Banking are not delivered in real time, so we recommend that you do not rely on these alerts for up-to-date account and balance information.
