Eastern Insurance Acquires Rosemary Walker Insurance Agency in Danvers
Deal Provides Rosemary Walker’s Customers with Broader Range of Insurance Products
NATICK, Mass., Jan. 28, 2009 – Eastern Insurance Group today announced the acquisition of Danvers-based Rosemary Walker Insurance Agency – providing its customers with access to a broader range of insurance products and services.
For Eastern Insurance, the acquisition increases its customer base north of Boston, where it already has eight locations. In the last year, Eastern has added four new locations in Danvers, Northborough, Norwell and Warwick, RI.
In all, Natick-based Eastern Insurance has 27 locations in eastern and central Massachusetts and parts of Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island making it New England’s largest independent insurance agency.
“We are excited to add the Rosemary Walker Insurance Agency to our expanding network of local offices,” said Hope Aldrich, president and CEO of Eastern Insurance, a subsidiary of Eastern Bank. “For more than 39 years, Rosemary Walker Insurance has built an excellent reputation for superior customer service and products, making it a perfect cultural fit to our organization.”
The transition will be seamless as Eastern Insurance will retain Rosemary Walker’s Al DeCristoforo, who will provide service to existing customers. Rosemary Walker Insurance, located at 74 Elm St., will merge with Eastern’s existing office in Danvers in the future.
Rosemary Walker Insurance traces its roots back to 1970 when it was founded in Danvers by Rosemary Walker DeCristoforo.
