Eastern Bank announces plans to open branch in Hyannis
New office is Eastern Bank’s seventh on Cape Cod

BARNSTABLE, Mass., June 23, 2009 – Eastern Bank today announced plans to open a new, full-service office in Hyannis, as it continues to expand its presence throughout Cape Cod. The branch, the bank’s seventh location on Cape Cod and second in Barnstable, will offer personal and business banking, mortgage, investment and insurance services all under one roof.

Conveniently located at 375 Iyannough Road (Rte. 28) in Hyannis, the office is situated in the largest hub of business on Cape Cod. Hyannis, referred to as the “Capital of the Cape,” is one of seven villages in Barnstable, the Cape’s largest town with a population of more than 47,000.

The new location, Eastern Bank’s 83rd branch, will open later this summer. Eastern Bank’s other Cape Cod locations are in Cotuit (Marston Mills), East Falmouth (Teaticket), Falmouth, Mashpee, Sandwich and South Yarmouth.

“The Hyannis branch extends Eastern Bank’s footprint on Cape Cod and demonstrates our commitment to providing convenient, one-stop shopping service for our customers,” said Joseph Riley, executive vice president of retail and business banking at Eastern Bank. “We have some special activities planned to celebrate our grand opening in Hyannis that will give back to our customers and the community – stay tuned.”
