Mobile Deposit 

With mobile deposit, you can use the camera on your smartphone or iPad® to deposit checks anywhere, anytime.1 Simply endorse your check, choose the account to receive the deposit, enter the amount of the check, snap a picture of the front and back of the check, and submit the deposit.


At Eastern Bank, we're always looking for ways to make your banking easier and more convenient. We understand how busy you are, which is why we're pleased to offer mobile deposit. So not only can you bank anywhere you have Internet access, but now you can also deposit checks anytime using your iPhone®, iPad® or AndroidTM smartphone.

Free. There's no charge for the mobile banking app or mobile deposit.

You must enroll in mobile banking and satisfy the requirements outlined below to use mobile deposit.

To be eligible to use mobile deposit, you must have:

• An active Eastern HomeConnect® online banking account.

• A consumer checking, statement savings or money market account linked to your HomeConnect account; business
  accounts are not eligible.

• Bank accounts in good standing; for example, an account cannot have excessive overdraft activity.

• Either an iPhone,® iPad® or AndroidTM smartphone.

Below is important information that will govern your use of mobile deposit.

Deposit Cutoff Time

8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Deposits after the cutoff time or on a Saturday, Sunday or day we are not open will be considered received on the next business day. Deposits are subject to our standard funds availability policy.

Mobile Deposit Posting

Unlike ATM or branch deposits, mobile deposits are not displayed as pending transactions in your account balances or transactions. A mobile deposit will be displayed in your account after the bank posts all transactions for that business day.


By integrating mobile deposit within our mobile banking app, your mobile check deposits are completely secure:

• Mobile banking uses the same login authentication as Eastern HomeConnect® online banking, including multifactor authentication and encryption.
• Your user ID and account numbers are not displayed in full.
• Check images and personal information are not stored on your device.

Accessing Mobile Deposit
Mobile deposit is an integrated feature of the Eastern Bank mobile banking app. Simply download the Eastern Bank mobile banking app from the iTunes App Store or Google Play.

Depositing a Check
- Sign in to the mobile banking app using your HomeConnect® user ID and password.
- Choose "Check Deposit" from the navigation menu.
- Snap a picture of the front and back of the check, making sure the check is endorsed.
- Enter the amount of the check.
- Select the account to receive the deposit.
- Submit the check for deposit.
