1. What is mobile deposit?
Mobile deposit allows you to deposit a check by using the camera on either an iPhone®, iPad®, or AndroidTM smartphone with the Eastern Bank Mobile Banking App.

2. Is mobile deposit available through mobile web, which allows customers to use their phones' browser to do their banking through m.easternbank.com?
No. Mobile deposit is available only through the Eastern Bank Mobile Banking App for iPhone, iPad, and Android smartphones.

3. Who is eligible to use mobile deposit?
To be eligible to use mobile deposit, customers must have:
• An active Eastern HomeConnect® online banking account.
• A consumer checking, statement savings or money market account linked to their HomeConnect account; business accounts are not eligible.
• Bank accounts in good standing; for example, , an account cannot be overdrawn for more than five consecutive days.
• Either an iPhone or Android smartphone or an iPad.

4. Is there an enrollment form for mobile deposit?
Yes. Customers would need to sign in to HomeConnect on their computer and choose the mobile banking option or download our applications. Enroll their mobile phone and follow the activation instructions.

5. How do I deposit a check using mobile deposit?
First, you must sign in to the Mobile Banking App using your Eastern HomeConnect user ID and password. If you are not a HomeConnect user, please visit our website to enroll. Once logged in to the Mobile Banking App, select Check Deposit from the menu of banking activities. Sign your check, choose the account to receive the deposit, enter the amount of the check, take photos of the front and back of the check, enter their email address and submit the deposit.

6. What types of checks can I deposit using mobile deposit?
You may deposit personal or business checks made payable to and endorsed by you, drawn on a US bank, payable in US currency and dated within six months of the deposit date. Checks should be endorsed “For Deposit Only, Eastern Bank Account #____.”

7. Which of my Eastern Bank accounts are eligible for mobile deposit?
If linked to your HomeConnect online banking account, you may use mobile deposit to deposit checks into your consumer checking, statement savings or money market account. Certificates of deposit, Passbook Savings accounts, loan accounts and business deposit accounts, which may be eligible for HomeConnect, are not eligible to receive deposits through mobile deposit.

8. What is the cutoff time for making a mobile deposit?
Checks successfully deposited through mobile deposit prior to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on any business day will be deemed to have been received by the bank on that business day. Deposits after the cutoff time or on a Saturday, Sunday or day the bank is not open will be made on the next business day.

9. When will the funds from my mobile deposit be available?
Funds from mobile deposits are not available for immediate withdrawal. They are made available according to our Funds Availability Policy, as outlined in the Personal Deposit Account Agreement that governs your deposit account.

10. When will I be able to see the mobile deposit reflected in my account?
Unlike ATM or branch deposits, mobile deposits are not displayed as pending transactions in account balances or transactions. A mobile check deposit will be displayed in your account after the bank posts all banking transactions for that business day. The deposit description will read Mobile Check Deposit.

11. Are there dollar limits for depositing checks through mobile deposit?
Yes. For checks deposited through mobile deposit, there is a $2,500 daily deposit limit and a $7,500 limit for any consecutive 30 calendar day period. There is no limit on the number of deposits that can be made through mobile deposit.

12. What should I do with my paper check after submitting a mobile deposit?
Securely store the original check until you have confirmed that the deposit was properly credited to your account, and then destroy it.
