Each year, the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation provides more than $1.5 million in grants to community-based organizations working for progress on a specific issue or set of issues facing our communities. Grants to these organizations are referred to as Targeted Grants. They are intended to support programming that strengthens our communities and enhances the lives of our neighbors in specific and meaningful ways.

The Targeted Grant focus for 2018 is “Advancing Women” – in celebration of our 200th anniversary and to honor our first customer, Rebecca Sutton. The grants have been designated to support organizations addressing a range of issues that disproportionately impact women, such as sexual assault, domestic violence, human trafficking, health care, pay equity, and senior management and board representation.
