Jerry is focused on promoting workforce development, good jobs, and economic opportunity for untapped talent as an Foundation Fellow, as well as a Visiting Fellow at the Harvard Project On the Workforce, and Board Member of both the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Organization (MIRA) and the Hyde Square Task Force.

Prior to joining Eastern, he served for 15 years as President and CEO of Jewish Vocational Service, the largest Workforce Development community-based organization in Massachusetts. Jerry was also Vice President at Jobs for the Future, leading its workforce development efforts, and was founder and Executive Director of the Greater Boston Manufacturing Partnership. He served as Deputy Director for Policy and Research and Chief of Staff for the Boston Economic Development & Industrial Corporation and as a Policy Advisor for former Boston Mayor Raymond Flynn. Early in his career he was the founding Executive Director of the Coalition For A Better Acre in Lowell, Massachusetts. Jerry has published extensively on such issues as job quality, workforce development and adult education.
