Why go to the bank to cash your paycheck? Save time with direct deposit. When you enroll in direct deposit, your paychecks, Social Security payments, government checks and pension checks are directly deposited into your Eastern Bank account. And, because your checks are no longer printed or mailed, you may be able to access your funds faster.
Notice to Recipients of Government Checks
By March 1, 2013, everyone getting federal benefits by paper check will need to switch to electronic payments – direct deposit to a bank or credit union account or to the Direct Express® Debit MasterCard® card. With direct deposit, the U.S.Treasury sends an electronic message to your bank or credit union crediting your account with the exact amount of your benefit. For more information go to GoDirect.org.
