HYANNIS PORT, November 6, 2017 – Eastern Bank recently honored Jitka Borowick with the bank’s 2017 Community Advocacy Award, which recognizes people who have given their time and talent to address a vital need in their community.
Borowick, Founder of Cleangreen, emigrated from the Czech Republic in 2003. Five years later, she started Cleangreen, an environmentally conscious residential and commercial cleaning service company. What started as a home-based business, Cleangreen has grown to employ 16 year-round employees who are all active in the community as part of the company’s core values. She was recognized by Eastern for her dedication to supporting the Cape Cod community through her volunteer activities and environmental sustainability efforts.
Under Borowick’s leadership, Cleangreen has received local recognition as the “Best of Cape Cod” from Cape Cod Magazine for five consecutive years. Borowick herself was named “40 Under 40” from Cape & Plymouth Business, recognized as one of 10 Inspiring Women by Cape Cod Magazine, awarded “Business Woman of the Year” in 2015 from Cape & Plymouth Business and in 2016 was named “Small Business Owner of the Year” from Cape Cod SCORE.
Borowick is currently a Chairman of the board for Flower Angels USA and President-Elect for the Rotary Club of Hyannis. She resides in Barnstable with her family.
The 2017 Community Advocacy Award is decided by a select group of Eastern Bank executives. The award aligns with Eastern’s Targeted Grant program each year, which for 2017 the focus is supporting immigrants in our communities.
