LOWELL, Mass. (October 30, 2026) – Eastern Bank celebrated the reopening of its newly renovated Downtown Lowell branch at 50 Central Street with a ribbon cutting and open house. Lowell Mayor Erik R. Gitschier, Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Linsey Former, and many local business and community leaders joined Eastern Executive Chair Bob Rivers, Vice Chair, President and Chief Operating Officer Quincy Miller, and the Lowell branch team for the celebration. State Senator Vanna Howard also presented an Official Citation on behalf of the Massachusetts Senate in recognition of Eastern Bank’s commitment to serving the Greater Lowell community.
The branch sits at one of the main gateways into downtown Lowell. Its renovation begins a new chapter for Eastern, which has served Lowell residents and businesses for approximately 20 years.
“Eastern has been part of Lowell for approximately 20 years, and this branch stands at the front door of downtown,” said Bob Rivers, Executive Chair of Eastern Bank. “This renovation is about more than a building. It’s our commitment to keep investing in a stronger Lowell for everyone, alongside members of the community who joined with us to celebrate.”
Rivers has long been involved with the Lowell Plan and its work to strengthen the city’s economic and civic life. Branch Manager Sixto DeJesus leads the branch, and every member of the team lives in Lowell. “Our team lives here, raises families here and supports local businesses here,” said DeJesus. “We’re proud to welcome our neighbors into a space built to serve them, whether they’re opening a first account or growing a business.”
The Downtown Lowell branch is open Monday – Friday, 9 am – 4 pm, and Saturday, 9 am – 12 noon. For more information, visit www.easternbank.com or call 978-446-9276.
