Providing donations to over 1,600 organizations a year results in partnerships within the communities we serve. Through these partnerships we are able to contribute to the health of neighborhoods in eastern Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire. Each partnership tells a different story. Here are a few of those stories.
Asian American Civic Association
WHAT THEY DO The Asian American Civic Association provides limited English speaking and economically disadvantaged people with education, occupational training and social services enabling them to realize lasting economic self-sufficiency. WHO THEY SERVE AACA has served and advocated for the needs of immigrants and other economically disadvantaged people since 1967. Today AACA serves clients from over 125 countries. IMPACT HIGHLIGHT Eastern Bank was proud to support the Careers in Banking and Finance course at AACA. Over the years we’ve had the privilege of hiring many of the graduates. |
Brockton Neighborhood Health Center
WHAT THEY DO Brockton Neighborhood Health Center is a multicultural organization that collaborates with community agencies and residents to provide high quality comprehensive health care that is responsive to community health needs and is linguistically, culturally and financially accessible. WHO THEY SERVE The Health Center serves the residents of Brockton and its surrounding communities. IMPACT HIGHLIGHT Eastern Bank is proud to serve many of the Gateway Communities in Massachusetts. When we started doing business in Brockton in 2012, we quickly understood the impact made by the Health Center. |
Cambodian Mutual Assistance of Greater Lowell
WHO THEY ARE The mission of CMAA is to improve the quality of life for Cambodian Americans and other minorities and economically disadvantaged persons through educational, cultural, economic and social programs. WHO THEY SERVE The organization serves residents of Lowell and the Merrimack Valley. IMPACT HIGHLIGHT Eastern Bank has long partnered with the CMAA to provide opportunities for residents of Greater Lowell as well as add to the cultural fabric of the region. |
Everett Haitian Community Center
WHO THEY ARE The Everett Haitian Community Center (EHCC) is an all-volunteer organization working for social welfare, social justice, human rights, civil rights, offering anti-poverty programs for Haitian-Americans. WHO THEY SERVE They serve Haitian Americans in Everett and other communities north of Boston. IMPACT HIGHLIGHT Each year the Eastern Bank employees are asked to nominate organization in their communities whose work is notable impactful. In 2017 we were proud to support this organization as a result of one such nomination. |
Found in Translation
WHO THEY ARE Through the Language Access Fellowship program, Found in Translations provides Medical Interpreter Certificate training, job placement, and ongoing career development to low-income bilingual women in the Greater Boston Area. WHO THEY SERVE They serve homeless and low-income multilingual women to achieve economic security through the use of their language skills. IMPACT HIGHLIGHT When Found in Translation was merely an idea of founder, Maria Vertin, when our Branch Manager, Jim Cobb, helped Maria establish the fundamentals that enabled her idea to grow into a thriving organization providing women with the skills to obtain jobs with compensation to support their family. |

WHO THEY ARE Independence House provides specialized services and widespread programs those who are survivors of, or impacted by domestic or sexual violence WHO THEY SERVE Their programs serve children (ages 6+), teens, adults, and seniors throughout Cape Cod. IMPACT HIGHLIGHT We are proud to partner with Independence House. In addition to financial support we are proud that our Branch Manager, Erica Clark shares her professional expertise as a board member of the organization. |

Project Citizenship |

WHO THEY ARE Project Citizenship’s mission is to educate immigrants about the benefits of citizenship, and to help eligible, legal permanent residents to overcome barriers to naturalization. WHO THEY SERVE The organization serves eligible, legal permanent residents in Greater Boston. IMPACT HIGHLIGHT Eastern Bank was proud to be the first non-lawyer volunteers to assistance residents complete the application process for naturalization. Over 50 volunteers participated in application events in Boston, Lynn, and Lawrence. |
Family Promise Metrowest
WHO THEY ARE Family Promise Metrowest is a cooperative, interfaith partnership offering hope to homeless families with children through safe transitional shelter, meals, and supportive case management as they seek permanent housing. WHO THEY SERVE Family Promise serves homeless families in Boston’s Metrowest communities. There are many reasons families become homeless in the, but the most common root causes are the lack of affordable housing combined with low earnings. IMPACT HIGHLIGHT A long-time supporter of Family Promise Metrowest, Eastern Bank volunteers annually participate in the annual Walk to End Homelessness. |
