
Nancy Huntington Stager
President and CEO
As President and CEO, Nancy leads Eastern Bank Foundation’s efforts in philanthropy, employee volunteerism, advocacy, and collaborations with other businesses and community partners to address community needs by supporting sustainable solutions to the most vexing challenges across communities in MA, NH and RI. An advocate for civil rights, economic justice, and inclusion, Nancy is dedicated to driving good at Eastern and in our communities to create a better, fairer, more sustainable world. She champions innovative work focused on economic inclusion and mobility addressing racial wealth gaps at the intersections of support for businesses of color, early childhood development, safe and affordable housing, and workforce development.
Nancy has received numerous awards for her leadership in diversity, equity and inclusion and corporate social responsibility, including as a Top 100 Women-Led Business in Massachusetts from The Commonwealth Institute and a Boston Business Journal Power 50 Movement Maker. Nancy serves on the boards of several community organizations across Greater Boston, including as President of the Foundation for Business Equity, and has actively shaped Eastern Bank as a recognized leader in corporate citizenship in the region.

Lena Allie
Administrative Assistant
With over 15 years of experience in professional office executive assistant positions and a track record of strong performance in high-volume, high-pressure environments, Lena skillfully manages administrative duties at the Eastern Bank Foundation.
Previously, she was Executive Administrative Assistant at State Street Bank and Trust where she provided administrative and business support to senior-level executives and department directors within the Global Treasury department. In addition, she provided program coordination and support of Business Continuity & Data Privacy initiatives to ensure compliance with Corporate Standards and regulatory requirements.
Lena is described as a powerful force in the workplace and uses her positive attitude to encourage others to work hard and succeed.

Cynthia Ciman
Operations Director
Cindy Ciman began her career at Eastern Bank 40 years ago when she needed a job to help pay for college. This “college job” has evolved into an incredible career journey. She started as a Teller, and was later accepted into the bank’s management training program, ultimately leading a department as Vice President of Consumer Lending before becoming a member of the Residential Mortgage Team.
Today, Cindy is the Foundation’s Operations Director, responsible for shepherding the review of more than 3,000 donation requests each year. Her varied career at Eastern provides a unique perspective for creating effective community partnerships. She is proud to learn from and work with the many nonprofit organizations in the communities Eastern serves.

Patricia Correia
Administrative Assistant
Patty joined Eastern Bank in January of 2015 after serving as the Executive Assistant to the President of Wingate Healthcare for 25 years. She was attracted to Eastern’s community commitment as well as its progressive stance on social justice issues. She joined Eastern as the Administrative Assistant to Nancy Huntington Stager, who was then the Executive Vice President of Human Resources and the head of the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation. After five years, Patty moved full-time to the Foundation when Nancy became its President and CEO. Patty is a member of Eastern’s Equality Under the Blue networking group, and has been recognized by Eastern for assisting with the collection of donated goods for those in need. She finds working for the Foundation both challenging and rewarding, and appreciates the opportunity to play a small role in making the community in which she lives a kinder place for all.

Thomas "Doc" Daugherty
Volunteer Engagement Director
Doc Daugherty joined the Eastern Bank Foundation in 2022 as Volunteer Engagement Director, after serving in Eastern Bank’s Retail Division for more than 10 years as Vice President/Branch Manager for the Central Street Lowell, MA branch. He is consistently one of Eastern’s top 20 employee volunteers and devotes his volunteer time in many ways; from organizing holiday card drives for military service members and families, to teaching financial literacy, to serving as a Board Member. He participates on the boards of The Greater Lowell Chamber of Commerce, Project Learn, Merrimack Valley Food Bank, Acre Family Day Care, Cambodian Mutual Assistance Association, and the International Institute of Lowell. Internally at Eastern, Doc is also a member of several of our Employee Networks. As Volunteer Engagement Director, Doc oversees employee volunteerism and ongoing relationship building with community partners, as well as our Matching Gift program.

Turahn Dorsey
Chief Impact Officer
Turahn Dorsey is a researcher, policymaker and strategist whose career has centered around systems change and civic innovation. As Chief Impact Officer, he plays a key leadership role in advancing the Foundation’s approaches to economic mobility and inclusion as well as guiding the Foundation’s efforts on measurement, evaluation and learning. He previously served asis a Foundation Fellow with the Eastern Bank Foundation focusing on the transformation of early care and learning systems and guiding the Foundation’s approaches in this area. He was drawn to working with the Foundation because of its commitment to social justice and racial and gender equity, and reputation as a community partner. Additionally, he is the co-founder of Change Agency Ltd., a consulting firm with a mission to build the community-level agency required to promote racial justice and ecological sustainability. Rahn is also the former Chief of Education for the City of Boston, having served in Mayor Martin J. Walsh’s cabinet from 2014 to 2018.

Jeffrey Fuhrer
Foundation Fellow
As a Foundation Fellow for the Eastern Bank Foundation, Jeffrey C. (Jeff) Fuhrer’s work on racial equity is motivated by the findings of the Federal Reserve’s 2015 “Color of Wealth in Boston” study. He hopes to use its findings to design programs and policies to close the wealth gap in the Greater Boston metro area and surrounding communities. Jeff is also a senior fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. In that capacity, he is conducting research on the Federal Reserve’s new monetary policy framework, and sources of the racial and ethnic wealth gaps.
Jeff previously served as executive vice president and senior policy advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. He has been an associate economist of the Federal Open Market Committee and regularly attends this key US policymaking meeting with the Bank’s president. In 1992, he joined the Bank’s research department as an assistant vice president and economist, and from 1995 to 2001 he headed its open economy macro/international section. In 2000, Fuhrer was named senior vice president and monetary policy advisor. In 2001 he became director of research, and in 2006 he was named executive vice president.
Fuhrer began his career at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System; he started there as a research assistant and, after earning his doctorate, returned in 1985 as a senior economist. He has been active in economic research for more than three decades and has served as an associate editor for the American Economic Review. Fuhrer has published numerous scholarly papers on the interactions among monetary policy, inflation, consumer spending, and asset prices. He has been married for 35 years and has three grown children. Fuhrer earned an AB in economics with highest honors from Princeton University. He received his MA and PhD in economics from Harvard University.

Suzy Nguyen
Analyst
Born and raised in Lynn, Massachusetts, Suzy Nguyen joined the Foundation as Operations Administrator in 2017 and was promoted to Analyst in 2021. She is especially proud to work at the Foundation having grown up locally and heard about its work in the community. Before joining Eastern, Suzy worked in operations for a commuter benefits company. She is a graduate of North Shore Community College and Salem State University, and lives with her family in Lynn, where she enjoys working close to home.

Yeimy Ramon
Foundation Coordinator II
Yeimy Ramon joined Eastern Bank in 2016 and has worked in the Operations Department for the past 5 years. In November 2021, Yeimy joined the Eastern Bank Foundation as a Foundation Coordinator II. She is thrilled and proud to be a part of this team where she can support her community. She graduated from North Shore Community College in 2021 with her Hospitality & Tourism degree and in 2022 with her Business Administration degree.

Jerry Rubin
Foundation Fellow
As a Foundation Fellow, Jerry is focused on promoting workforce development for adults. Jerry is known for driving impactful and successful research, programming, and community and economic development initiatives at the crossroad of workforce training and adult education. He previously served as President and CEO of Jewish Vocational Service, the largest workforce development organization in Greater Boston. He tripled its size and budget, and expanded its impact to serve nearly 15,000 individuals annually, most of whom are adult immigrants. Jerry is a past vice president at Jobs for the Future. He also served as Deputy Director for Policy and Research and Chief of Staff for the Economic Development & Industrial Corporation for the City of Boston under Mayor Marty Walsh. His government work has included serving as a Policy Advisor for former Boston Mayor Raymond Flynn.
Jerry is a Trustee of the Economic Empowerment Trust Fund of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and a Board Member of the Massachusetts Immigrant and Refugee Advocacy Organization (MIRA) and the Hyde Square Task Force. His published thought leadership covers such issues as job quality and workforce development and educating New England’s workforce for the future.

Natalia Urtubey
Foundation Fellow
Natalia is a community leader who joined the Eastern Bank Foundation in 2022 as a Foundation Fellow, focusing on advancing equity in the small business ecosystem, a strategic area in the Foundation’s work to support economic inclusion and mobility across the region. Prior to Eastern, she served as Director of Small Business in the Office of Economic Opportunity & Inclusion for the City of Boston. She led a team focused on researching small business development, coordinating with local residents and existing businesses on strategic policies to advance growth, and working with residents and other city officials to remove barriers to do business. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Natalia was instrumental in leading the city’s Small Business relief efforts, including the distribution of more than $28.6M in direct grants and the implementation of innovative programming to ensure the growth and survival of Boston’s small businesses. Before then, she was Executive Director of Imagine Boston 2030 where she led the implementation of the citywide plan.

Tom Weber
Foundation Fellow and Executive Director, Massachusetts Business Coalition for Early Childhood Education
Tom Weber, a Lynn, Massachusetts native, joined the Eastern Bank Foundation as a Foundation Fellow in 2019 and transitioned into his current role as Executive Director of the Massachusetts Business Coalition for Early Childhood Education in 2021. He is determined to make early childhood education more accessible, affordable and stable for working families, more rewarding for early childhood professionals, and a point of differentiation in attracting and retaining a strong workforce across the Commonwealth.
Prior to his current role, Tom was the longest-serving Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. During his tenure, the Department expanded services for eligible families in need, which included advancing higher program quality and increased workforce supports, the successful application for $60 million in federal funding to support free, high-quality preschool in five communities, and the implementation of the Commonwealth's $50 million Federal Race to the Top Early Learning Challenge Grant, which supported numerous program quality improvement initiatives.
