The special focus of the Targeted Grant program for 2015 is Violence Prevention.

Each year, the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation provides more than $1,000,000 of support in grants to community based organizations working for progress on a specific issue or set of issues facing our communities in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, within the Eastern Bank footprint.  Grants to these organizations are referred to as Targeted Grants.  They are intended to support programming that strengthens our communities and enhance the lives of our neighbors in specific and impactful ways.

Over the past few years, we have supported organizations addressing issues related to: Community Healthcare, Homelessness, Workforce Development, and Student Success.

For 2015, our Targeted Grant program will focus on violence prevention.

Our Focus
Support organizations providing services to the underserved and neediest members of our community.  We work to ensure that all our neighbors have equal access to employment, education, healthcare, housing, child care, healthy meals and other essential support services.

Our Goal
Support vibrant organizations across our geographic footprint, contributing to the health and welfare of the communities we serve.  We prefer to make a significant number of smaller grants rather than a few larger ones, to organizations making a meaningful impact in our neighborhoods.
